Yoga Styles

I teach a variety of yoga styles which include Vinyasa, Hatha, Ashtanga, Yin and kids yoga. I make sure that my classes are tailored to my clients needs and ability. I work fluidly continually assessing the level and flow of the class, ensuring that it is varied and challenging for those who want it to be. In all classes I help my clients connect their movement with their breath allowing them to get the full benefit of yoga which is often overlooked. When we practise yoga correctly we enter into a meditative state which quietens the mind, connecting body and soul and leaving us with high which lasts all day.

Hatha Yoga is one of the traditional styles of practise, it is said that other forms of yoga are preparation for Hatha. Whilst practising Hatha you hold the postures for increasing lengths of time. The poses should be comfortable and easy and whilst in these you should remained focused on the breath. Not only does this improve your fitness, flexibility & strength it also creates a deep meditative state which quietens your mind allowing you to connect with your inner self.

Yin Yoga is a fantastic practise which helps us heal our heart and mind whilst stretching the deep connective tissues between the muscles and fascias. Practising yin is a therapeutic and gentle form of yoga it increases circulation in the joints and improves flexibility as the poses stretch and exercise the bone and joint area, whilst regulating the body’s flow of energy.

Vinyasa is a dynamic flow of positions, it’s an amazing form of exercise which strengthen, stretches and tones. You connect your breath to each movement which creates a balance between mind and body and takes you into a light meditative state. I combine movement with sound creating a magical atmosphere for you to get deep into your practise.

Ashtanga is a classical form of yoga which basically translates to eight limbs, this is a set series of positions which is done in order to set amount of breaths. This a strict practise which improves mental and physical health.

Kids Yoga is a fun class designed for children which incorporates traditional yoga poses with a story. Children benefit from exercise and a mental calmness which they can take with them throughout their life. The advantages of kids practising yoga are endless!
