Breathing Exercise – Relaxing Breath

Breathing is not only crucial to stay alive, learning to control our breath and the way we breathe benefits us in a magnitude of ways. It helps with anxiety, stress, illness, our immune system, addictions, sleep, relaxation, getting rid of toxins and much more.
In yoga we call these breathing techniques pranayama which means to control our breathe. Pran = Vital/Universal Energy, Life Force Breath and Yama = Control. There are many different breathing techniques that can be used for specific reasons. The one I am going to teach you today is what I call the relaxing breath. It will calm you and take you from your sympathetic nervous system (fight, flight, freeze) and into your parasympathetic nervous system (rest and relax). Enjoy!!!
